Marcross sits behind the cliffs near Nash Point, where two lighthouse towers were built in 1832 after the paddle steamer Frolic wrecked on the sands below with the loss of around 78 lives. Nash Point was the last manned lighthouse in Wales, its keepers leaving in 1998. The village has a small Norman church and a path down to the Heritage Coast shore.
