The Pelican in her Piety — “the Peli” to locals — takes its odd name from a heraldic device, and sits by the river at Ogmore, across from the ruined castle and the stepping stones over the Ewenny. Drinkers once fortified themselves here before wading across. Food and a riverside garden; Bridgend station is about 4km to the north-east.
