Ogmore-by-Sea looks out from the mouth of the River Ogmore across to the Dunraven headland, with a wide beach and rock pools below. Upriver stand the ruins of Ogmore Castle, begun by the Normans in the early 1100s and reached across old stepping stones over the River Ewenny. Bridgend is the nearest station, about 6km northeast.
