Llanblethian lies just below Cowbridge, its old core set around the parish church and the ruins of St Quentin’s Castle. The castle’s big twin-towered gatehouse, largely the work of the de Clare family in the early 1300s, still stands, along with an earlier Norman mound at the centre. It is a short walk up to Cowbridge and its shops.
