For centuries this Llancarfan church hid one of Britain’s finest medieval wall paintings under limewash. Conservators began uncovering it in 2008, working through more than twenty coats to reveal a huge St George and the Dragon and a set of the Seven Deadly Sins, painted in the 1480s. The work took years; the results are extraordinary for a small country church. Open to visitors.
