Tucked at the head of Loch Goil at the end of the B839, Lochgoilhead is ringed by the hills of the Argyll Forest Park - good walking country over towards Arrochar and Ardgartan. There’s a beach at the loch head, and the village makes a quiet base away from the busier Loch Lomond side of the hills. Garelochhead station is about 11km to the south-east if you’re coming without a car.
