A scatter of stone houses in the upper Dove valley, Hollinsclough sits right beneath the dragon-back ridge of Chrome Hill and its neighbour Parkhouse Hill. It was a silk-weaving community once, the yarn carried up from the mills on packhorse; now it’s a quiet base for walkers heading onto the reef-limestone hills. Longnor is a couple of miles down the valley.
