Longnor gathers around a cobbled square high on the ridge between the infant Dove and Manifold. The stone market hall at the top of the square, built in 1873, still carries its table of market tolls above the door — a reminder of the days when this was a busy crossroads for moorland farmers. The hall is now a craft centre and coffee shop, and there’s good walking in every direction.
