Cromer sits under a tall-towered church on the north-east corner of Norfolk, a Victorian resort that never quite lost its fishing town. The pier still runs an end-of-pier variety show and houses the lifeboat station. Cromer crab, picked and dressed on the day it’s landed, is the thing to eat here. Trains from the town station connect it to Norwich.
