Coleby stands on the limestone cliff south of Lincoln, with wide views west over the Trent vale. In the parkland below the village is an 18th-century folly known as the Temple of Romulus, built when the grounds of Coleby Hall were landscaped. Hykeham station is about 8km to the north-west.
