The White Hart faces the cathedral quarter on Bailgate, at the top of Lincoln’s uphill old city between the Norman castle and the cathedral. There has been an inn on the site for centuries, and the hotel takes its white-hart badge from Richard II, granted in 1372. It sits right at the head of Steep Hill, so it makes an easy landmark for a wander round the Bail.
