Burton Bradstock is a village of golden stone and thatch a short way back from the sea in West Dorset. A lane leads down to Hive Beach, a stretch of shingle under crumbling sandstone cliffs on the Jurassic Coast, with a well-known beach café. The old cottages cluster round the church and the little River Bride.
