Palmers is the only thatched brewery left in Britain, working since 1794 on its riverside site in Bridport. A water wheel forged in 1879 still turns beside the buildings. Guided tours run on weekday mornings, taking you down through the brewing floors from the malt loft to the cellar; booking is required. It’s an easy walk from the town centre.
