Sandaig is the shore and scatter of islets south of Glenelg that Gavin Maxwell disguised as ‘Camusfeàrna’ in Ring of Bright Water, the story of his life here with otters. Little remains of the house now, but the beach and bay are quietly beautiful. Getting down means a steep walk from the Glenelg to Arnisdale road, so decent footwear helps. A memorial stone marks the spot where the house once stood.
