The graceful road bridge that carries the A87 across the strait from Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland to Kyleakin on Skye. Opened in 1995, it replaced the old ferry and, after a long protest campaign, its tolls were finally scrapped in 2004. Most visitors now cross it without a second glance, but it’s worth a look from the shore. The Plock of Kyle gives a good vantage over it.
