The Lochalsh Woodland Garden sits on the National Trust for Scotland’s Balmacara Estate, a sheltered mix of ferns, rhododendrons and tall conifers with paths down to the shore of Loch Alsh. Open access all year and free to wander, just off the A87 near Balmacara — an easy hour or two on the way to or from Skye.
