The Glenelg–Kylerhea ferry, the Glenachulish, is the last seagoing turntable ferry still working — the deck literally swivels to load and unload the cars. It makes the short hop across the fast tidal narrows of Kyle Rhea to Skye, community-owned now and worked by hand. It runs Easter to October only; the rest of the year you take the bridge. A lovely, old-fashioned way onto the island.
