Scotland’s Gaelic college, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig sits on the Sleat peninsula in the south of Skye, its waterfront campus a real cultural landmark for the language. It teaches courses from short summer schools to full degrees, all through the medium of Gaelic, and there’s a cafe and events open to visitors. Easy to find on the A851, looking out over the Sound of Sleat to the mainland hills.
