Armadale is the ferry village of southern Skye, with a regular CalMac crossing to Mallaig on the mainland — a handy way onto the island if you’re coming up from the south. Beside the pier sit the ruins of Armadale Castle, its walled gardens now home to the Clan Donald visitor centre and the Museum of the Isles. The next village round the coast is Ardvasar.
