Down by the harbour in Mallaig, the Steam Inn is a bar-bistro built around the day’s landings — local seafood and daily specials, with the fishing boats right outside. It’s a handy meal before or after the ferries to Skye and the Small Isles, or the passenger boat over to the Old Forge at Inverie. Mallaig station is a minute’s walk.
