On the wooded roadside near Munlochy, the Clootie Well is an old healing spring where visitors have long tied strips of cloth to the surrounding trees. Thousands of rags now hang from the branches, left in the hope of a cure. It’s free and open at any time, right by the road, and makes an odd, memorable place to pause on the Black Isle.
