Sitting just below Inverness Castle in an old turreted building, the Castle Tavern is best known for its big raised beer terrace looking out over the River Ness. There’s a strong cask and craft range on the bar and food through the day, and it’s a short stroll up from the river and the station. A gorgeous spot for a pint in decent weather.
