A stretch of Roman road once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Scottish Borders. The Albion Guide lists two stretches of Roman road in the county; this is one of them. The site is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.
The nearest other stretch of Roman road is Dere Street Roman Road - North, 2.6 km to the north-west. For arrivals by rail, Stow Station is 11.2 km to the south.
