Known as “the Edinburgh Malt”, Glenkinchie is a Lowland single-malt distillery set in the glen of the Kinchie Burn near Pencaitland, only about 15 miles from the city. Diageo gave it a smart new visitor centre in 2020, and ticketed tours walk you round the stills and end with a tasting. Prestonpans is the nearest station, roughly 9km northwest.
