St Mary’s in Haddington is one of the largest parish churches in Scotland, a great late-medieval kirk on the Tyne long known as the ‘Lamp of Lothian’. Its choir and transepts stood roofless for centuries until a full restoration in the 1970s brought the whole building back into use. Open to visitors seasonally, and free to look round. Drem is the nearest station.
