Aberlady is a conservation village strung along the shore of Aberlady Bay, which became Britain’s first Local Nature Reserve back in 1952 — fine ground for waders and wintering geese. A medieval church anchors the village, and the Ship Inn is the spot for a pint after a walk on the reserve. Longniddry station is about 4km to the south-west.
