Aberlady Bay was Britain’s first designated local nature reserve, a tidal sweep of saltmarsh and dunes that fills with wintering geese and wildflowers. You reach it on foot over a long timber footbridge from the coast road, where there’s roadside parking. Longniddry station is about 5km south.
