In the grounds of ruined Dirleton Castle sits one of the loveliest gardens in East Lothian: deep Arts-and-Crafts herbaceous borders and a beehive-shaped 16th-century doocot. It’s a Historic Environment Scotland site, so there’s an admission charge that covers the castle too. North Berwick station is about 3km northeast.
