Gullane is golf country — a run of links courses lines the coast here, Muirfield among them, home of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers and a regular Open venue. Non-golfers get a big dune-backed beach and the Gullane Bents for a blowy walk. Drem station is about 4km inland, and the Bonnie Badger is the place for lunch.
