Beside the old toll bridge over the Wyre at Little Eccleston, the Cartford Inn is an 18th-century coaching inn turned art-filled restaurant with rooms. Expect eclectic, much-decorated interiors and Lancashire produce on the plate, some grown in the riverside garden; a couple of treehouse-style lodges sit out back. It’s a short hop from the market village of Great Eccleston. Poulton-le-Fylde station is about 7km west.
