The Bear sits right in the middle of Tattenhall, a 19th-century inn done up with boutique rooms and a busy yard for eating and drinking. It makes a handy base for this corner of west Cheshire, with The Ice Cream Farm just down the road and the Sandstone Trail within reach. Chester is about 11km to the north-west if you’re coming by train.
