Near Chester and under the sandstone ridge, Tattenhall is a lively village with a good high street of delis, pubs and a village shop, popular with walkers heading for the ridge and the dramatic crag of Beeston Castle just to the north. Quiet lanes and old canal branches make for easy pottering. It’s off the railway, so it’s a car or bus job — Chester is about 11km away.
