St Chad’s stands on a sandstone bluff above the River Dee at Farndon, looking across the water into Wales. There has been worship here for well over a thousand years. Its best-known feature is a 17th-century stained-glass window showing Civil War soldiers with their arms and armour, a rare survival of its kind. The church is usually open. Wrexham Central is the nearest station, roughly 9km to the south-west.
