Stretton Watermill is a restored working corn mill in the lanes near Malpas, sitting beside its own millpond. Parts of it go back to the sixteenth century, and on open days you can watch the waterwheel turning and the machinery grinding as it would have for centuries. It’s a small, low-key place run as a museum, open seasonally, so it’s worth checking days before you go. The village of Malpas is a short drive off.
