A handsome 18th-century watermill on the River Wensum near Fakenham, restored into an inn with a well-regarded kitchen, a riverside garden and comfortable rooms. Seasonal, local cooking has earned it repeated Michelin recognition. It makes a restful base for north Norfolk, a short drive from the pilgrimage village of Little Walsingham and its abbey gardens to the north-east.
