The ruins of a medieval Augustinian priory stand in these eighteen acres at Walsingham, once one of England’s great pilgrimage shrines. Most people come in February, when naturalised snowdrops carpet the woods and the walks along the River Stiffkey. Paid entry, with reduced snowdrop-season opening from late January; the grounds also hold the Shirehall Museum.
