The Ballygrant Inn keeps a serious whisky library, hundreds of single malts with Islay’s own well represented, in a small roadside inn on the A846. It’s a favourite refuelling stop between the northern distilleries, with the Paps of Jura on the skyline across the sound. Islay is reached by CalMac ferry from Kennacraig; Ballygrant sits inland between Port Askaig and Bridgend.
