The bar at the Bowmore Hotel stocks hundreds of Scottish malts, most of them made just down the road: Bowmore is Islay’s main village and home to one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. It’s a comfortable island hotel bar in the middle of town, a short walk from the round church and the harbour. Islay is a CalMac ferry hop from Kennacraig on the mainland.
