Bowmore’s round church is one of Islay’s landmarks, built in 1767 with a circular plan and a single central pillar holding up the roof. The story goes that it was made round so the devil would have no corner to hide in. You’ll find it at the top of Main Street, looking straight down the hill to the sea.
