Phyllis Reiss made this small Arts and Crafts garden after buying Tintinhull in 1933, dividing less than an acre into linked rooms with clipped yew and bold, painterly colour schemes; the Pool Garden was laid out in memory of a nephew killed in the war. It surrounds a Grade I seventeenth-century house near Yeovil and passed to the National Trust in 1961. Paid entry.
