Julian and Diana Temperley won Britain’s first modern cider-distilling licence here in 1989, reviving a craft that had lapsed for some 300 years. The farm below Burrow Hill, near Kingsbury Episcopi, presses Burrow Hill cider and distils cider brandy in two copper stills named Josephine and Fifi. The farm shop, vat sheds and orchard are open to visitors, and the short climb up Burrow Hill itself is worth doing for the view.
