Felley Priory’s garden grew up around the site of a medieval priory near Underwood, planted from 1974 by the Chaworth-Musters family. It’s known for clipped yew topiary — swans, peacocks, castles — a walled rose garden, and some sixty varieties of snowdrop that open the year in February. Generally open on weekdays through the year, with occasional Sundays in the growing season, though it’s worth checking ahead. Newstead station is about 4km to the east.
