Cardiff’s green heart, running north along the River Taff straight from behind Cardiff Castle. It was laid out on the private grounds of the Marquesses of Bute and given over to the city, and its arboretum is planted with hundreds of tree species, several of them national champions. Free and open, good for a long riverside walk into the city. Cathays station is about 700 metres to the north-east.
