The medieval parish church of central Cardiff, hemmed in now by shops and lanes off the High Street. Its 15th-century tower is the oldest thing standing in the city centre, a survivor of the town that grew up under the castle walls. Open to visitors, and an easy stop between trains: Cardiff Queen Street station is about 600 metres east.
