Burslem Park was laid out on reclaimed colliery land by the landscape architect Thomas Mawson, opening in 1894 as a green space for the Potteries. It’s one of his earliest schemes and still follows his original plan closely, with a restored Victorian terrace, rose garden, lake and bandstand. A volunteer-run cafe operates from the old pavilion. Free to walk in any time, and Middleport Pottery is a short walk southwest for more of Burslem’s industrial history.
