Titanic Brewery has been brewing in Burslem since the 1980s, named for the ship’s captain, Edward Smith, who came from the town. It now makes more than twenty beers, best known among them the dark, spiced Plum Porter that has won armfuls of awards. There’s a shop and a taproom at the brewery, and the firm runs a string of pubs across the Potteries. Longport station is about 2km to the west.
