Mallard Point is a family-run vineyard and distillery at Essendine, its 14,500 vines first planted in 2019. It makes still and sparkling wines alongside a range of gins, distilled with water drawn from the aquifer beneath the farm. The name nods to the Mallard, the steam locomotive that set its 126mph world speed record on the line past Essendine in 1938. Tours and tastings run through the season; Stamford station is about 6km south.
