Farrer’s has been roasting coffee and blending tea on Stricklandgate in Kendal since 1819, which makes it one of the oldest businesses in the town. Downstairs is the shop, full of the smell of the roast; upstairs is an old-fashioned coffee house where you can sit down for a brew and a bite. Open to visitors as both shop and cafe, and a good pause on a wander round Kendal.
