Downies of Whitehills are traditional Moray Firth fish smokers, curing haddock and kippers at their smokehouse in the little harbour village of Whitehills. Their smoked fish is a north-east staple, sold locally and further afield. The village harbour, once a busy fishing creek, is now mostly given over to leisure boats.
