Fordyce is a tiny, beautifully kept conservation village, and its parish church stands at the heart of it, a step from the diminutive 16th-century Fordyce Castle that’s wedged in among the cottages. The village is a lovely pocket of old Banffshire to wander round. The church is open and free. Keith is the nearest station, about 17km to the south-west.
